Health Savings Accounts (HSA)

HSA’s were created by congress with passage of the Medicare Prescription Drug & Modernization Act of 2003 and allow for tax-deductible contributions. If withdrawals are used for qualified medical expenses, then distributions are tax-free. There are no limits on the total number of HSA’s that may be established and participants need not be self-employed or employed by small employers to qualify.
